181 Carlingford Road – since our last CQC report
In November 2014 we had our first CQC inspection using the new inspection process, based on five Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOE): Is this service safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs and well-led?
The report can be found on our CQC ratings page. We achieved a Good rating overall, and a Good rating for four of the five new standards. However, in the ‘responsive to people’s needs’ category CQC made one critical comment, alongside three positive ones:
“Arrangements for the storing and eating of people’s daily snacks were not person centred and we have made a recommendation to review these.”
As the CQC registered manager for Carlingford Road, I want assure you that I have taken on board this comment in the report and have addressed it as follows:
Since the inspection two people have left, leaving two people currently living in the house. One is supported to buy his own snacks and drinks when he pleases. Due to his support needs the other person has snacks stored in a locked locker in the office, which he can access by asking staff for keys or pointing at the keys or the locker. These arrangements entailed following DoLs procedures involving Haringey social services.
I hope that this answers any concerns you may have regarding the inspection but please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss the findings in more detail.
