We are looking for staff with energy, imagination and a desire to support people to live fulfilled, independent lives. Qualifications and experience are not essential but the right values and a willingness to learn are.
We are looking for part time and casual staff for a 25 year old man who has a learning disability and Autism. He recently moved into his own home in Sheffield. This young man has a great sense of humour, he loves having a laugh and a joke with the people he is close to and people genuinely enjoy spending time with him. He has a very keen interest in the weather, in CB radios and walking. He also has an interest in gardening, swimming and would like support to engage more with his family.
Those supporting him need to respond positively in order to provide a calm and supportive approach and to prevent escalation of anxieties.
You do not need to have had any previous experience of support work, what is more important is that you are confident and able to manage challenges. You will have a good sense of humour, patience and be able to communicate with clear and direct language.
This is a great opportunity to make a real difference to this person’s life with the support of a good employer.
