Volunteer

Gemma Morrison, “a fantastic volunteer who shows commitment to Mark (on right) and Choice Support in her actions and words…” won our Volunteer of the Year STARS Award.

At Choice Support we are always looking for volunteers who are willing to share their time, life and skills with the people we support.

“I started with Choice Support as a volunteer and then as a bank staff. I am a full time support worker now. My whole experience with the organisation has been very positive” Staff Survey 2015

Volunteering is a wonderful way to learn new skills, make new friends, give something back and experience community life in a different way. There is also evidence that volunteering impacts positively on health.

We currently have volunteers who support individuals or groups of people to do an activity such as going for a walk, going to watch football or visiting  the pub or the theatre.

Other volunteers have helped people we support to look for work, this can include anything from building confidence, to seeing volunteering roles, to helping them prepare for interviews.

We also have volunteers who offer their services to drive people to appointments, do gardening.

There are many reasons why people choose to volunteer and at Choice Support we want to know yours so that we can find a way for you to achieve your personal goals as well as help us and the people we support achieve theirs.

If you’d like to offer some time or if you have a particular passion or interest and you’d like to share it with someone less fortunate, please let us know. We’d love to hear from you.
