"I feel Choice Support is a very good organisation in terms of equality and code of practice. I would highly recommend the organisation to anyone." Staff Survey 2015.

Choice Support formed in London in 1984 and has been operating here ever since. We support people with learning disabilities and other support needs including autism, dementia and profound and multiple disabilities.

Our Individual Service Funds (ISFs) work with Southwark council broke down a large block contract into 83 individual service funds. Independent academic research showed that this work improved the lives of the people we support while cutting costs.

Today many of the people we support in London now live in their own flat and lots receive a small amount of support to get out and about or to help them with things like finances.

Thanks to the growth of our shared lives service, more and more of the people we support in London live with a new family. Like ISFs, for the right people shared lives has proven to improve lives and save significant sums of money.

Providing a quality service and enabling people to live the lives they choose remains our number one objective. You can view our Care Quality Commission reports here.

Over the past couple of years all our London managers and many of our support staff have been going through a “Culture of Care” programme that includes a range of exercises to assess the real culture within teams and helps individuals to work better together to find solutions to problems. The programme has been highly rated by staff and commissioners alike and we are planning to roll it out across the organisation.

Thanks to some funding from the Southwark Innovation Fund and our expertise in Quality Checking we have also been employing people with disabilities to carry out quality checking with other providers in the borough.
