Barclays volunteering
Volunteers spent the day at Choice Support's Ken Boyce Centre as part of their colleague programme, giving their skills, time and energy to support local communities.
Thanks to the excellent organisation skills of Jane Small (Relationship Support Manager, South East at Barclays Corporate Banking), the Ken Boyce Centre had a make-over that has wowed staff and the people who go there.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to Barclays and to Sophie Willoughby for the mural she painted (and donated).
The team painted walls, built benches for the garden out of pallets and spruced up the centre.
Jane took another team to our Growing Concern horticultural project in Kent, to tidy up the vegetable patches and lay gravel.
We were honoured to be able to volunteer for the day, giving back to the local community to make a difference. Jane Small, Barclays Corporate Team
"We had a great day painting, gardening, making benches and seeing the
fantastic work the charity does.
It was a very humbling day, enjoyed by all 28 staff
who attended from across Kent/London and the South East Corporate team.
Barclays has a fantastic colleague programme that encourages employees to get
involved in the causes we care about. It's all about giving back our skills,
time and energy to support our local communities - so we're thrilled to have
supported this fantastic project."
