Be Digital
For many of us, it is hard to imagine life without access to the internet. The Be Digital project aims to tackle digital exclusion and make the internet accessible to all.
The internet is a big part of how we keep in contact with friends and family. Unfortunately, no access to a device or the internet is a reality for many people. Choice Support are proud to be part of the Be Digital project, which is helping tackle digital exclusion.
Choice Support’s dedicated Digital and Technology team support people, identify and adopt technology that has the power to increase independence, give real choice and control and ensure dignity. Led by the person we support and their supporters, our team can find the solutions that will meet a person’s needs and goals. The Be Digital project is designed to improve skills and access to the world of online. People who are supported by Choice support can:
- access a loan device and data
- increase their skills through e-learning and skill-building activities
- be matched with a digital volunteer
- get advice on, and be able to access, affordable devices and data.
We are passionate about reducing digital exclusion and improving access to online services through Be Digital.
Be Digital has been made possible through funding we received through the Digital Lifeline emergency response project, funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and delivered by Good Things Foundation. As a delivery partner for Digital Lifeline and the Be Digital project we are able to provide devices, data, and work alongside other partners. We have produced a short report on our involvement in this important programme:
The Good Things Foundation have released an interim report of the early benefits of Digital Lifeline.
