What is most precious to you?
What do you choose to spend your time on, and with who? Sarah reflects that supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues to have those same choices in life is at the very centre of what we do.
Hello, it’s Friday once again and the vlog this week is called ‘What is most precious to you?’ Over the past year we’ve spoken about the busy lives that we all lead. One of the consequences of the pandemic has been a different pace of life – maybe not at work, but at home. Things have slowed down and as a person who’s spent a lot of her time on trains travelling around the country, I’ve spent more time with my family in the past few than months, than probably the past few years.
Having time means I can reflect on what is important to me, what’s precious to me. Now those of you who know me might say that is silver jewellery and handbags and in truth you wouldn’t be far wrong! But what is, I think more precious to me than the time I have, is what I do with the time.
I came across a quote, and it said, “There is only one thing more precious than our time and that’s who we spend it on”. Family, in all its different shapes and sizes is who I choose to spend my precious time on. I’ve never been clearer that supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health to do the same, is at the very centre of what we do.
Have a great weekend as always.
