Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner (PBS)
Choice Support a leading social care charity providing support to people with disabilities, who have a wide range of support needs, throughout much of England, we are seeking to recruit a new member to our Positive Behaviour Support Team.
About the role:
The main purpose of the role is to implement the Choice Support PBS strategy, creating capable environments that improve wellbeing and quality of life for the people we support, whilst reducing challenging behaviour and the use of restrictive interventions.
This role is to cover predominantly in the North of the UK, in particular in East Cheshire. You will be based from home, you will be expected to travel to our services in the North (and further afield if required) and from our offices in Crewe and Wakefield.

Part time 18.75 hours per week
Location:
You will be based from home, you will be expected to travel to our services in the North (and further afield if required) and from our offices in Crewe and Wakefield. You will therefore likely be East Cheshire based already.
You must also be willing and able to travel to our services and offices (which don’t always have good transport links) therefore you will need to have use of your own vehicle.
About you:
You will possess extensive knowledge and experience in the field of learning disabilities, Autism and behaviours that may challenge. You must be skilled in carrying out functional assessment and analysis of behaviours, devising behavioural support plans, and be able to apply this in the development of new and existing services for individuals who may challenge and/or have Autism. You will feel passionate about working with individuals who have complex behavioural support needs and demonstrate a sound values base.
You must be competent in the use of IT including Microsoft Office, you will also be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. You will be an excellent communicator and have experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and individuals outside of your own practice. You will be experienced in devising and delivering training. You will be supported to train to certify to become a PROACT-SCIPr-UK® instructor to deliver this approach to services. A relevant qualification is essential (IABA, Tizard Centre, Welsh Centre or equivalent) A Masters level qualification is highly desirable.
