New Chair of Board
Jayne Kilgallen has been appointed as the new Chair Designate of the Board of Choice Support.
The appointment comes as current chair, Oliver Mills, plans to step down next year at the end of his third term in office.
Jayne has been a Board Member of Choice Support since April 2023 and has over 45 years experience working across social care at a senior level.
She said: “I feel delighted and privileged to be appointed as Chair Designate. Although I have only been with Choice Support as a Board Member for a couple of years, I have known and worked alongside the organisation since the early 1990s. Throughout that period I was always impressed by how the people they support are always put at the forefront of everything they do. Values that I always aspire to.
“I have also worked for MCCH and know what a great contribution they have made since merging with Choice Support. It has been inspiring to see how many of the people they support, that I used to know, are living more independent lives with plenty of fun!
“Oliver Mills has been a great chair, and I have a golden opportunity to learn from him before he retires in July next year. There are undoubtably more challenging times ahead for social care but together with the great Board of Volunteers at Choice Support I know that we can continue to build on our success.”
In her career Jayne has worked at: Discovery, The Avenues Group, CMG, Scope, MCCH and Choice Support. She has held numerous Trustee roles, including Chair of the South London Special League. She is also a qualified learning disability nurse and enjoys watching and participating in sport.
