Support Worker (Mental Health)
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work with an established and experienced team supporting adults who struggle with their mental health. This service comprises 9 flats for both male and female adults, who have a primary mental health diagnosis.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to adults with complex mental health needs. Most placements are referred to us via the Trevor Gibbons Unit, meaning many individuals will have had contact with the criminal justice system and may present with additional risks and complexities.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support service users in developing independence, stability, and positive life skills within a structured and supportive environment.
The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise appropriately with external professionals and the people we support's close support network.
Hours:
Full time 39 hours per week.
This is a 24-hour service across a 7-day working pattern.
7:00am-15:00pm
13:00-10:00pm
9:00am-21:00pm.
Location:
This service is located in Maidstone, with easy access via public transport.
About you:
We are looking for someone who is:

Resilient, calm, and emotionally intelligent

Experienced in mental health support (preferred but not essential)

Confident working with individuals who have had contact with the criminal justice system

Able to manage challenging behaviour professionally

A strong communicator with good written skills
