Because We All Care

Sharing feedback on health and social care services will inform improvements to care in your community
Choice Support are working with Care Quality Commission (CQC) on their annual campaign, ‘Because We All Care’, which highlights the importance of providing feedback on care.
This encourages people who use, or support others who use, health and social care services to share their experiences.
CQC values feedback to inform their decisions as to whether they need to look more closely at a service or to take action. Feedback also helps services identify and address any quality issues.
Throughout the year the campaign has different focus audience groups that CQC are particularly interested in hearing from. Those audience groups are carers, people who are Deaf and hard of hearing, older people and people with a learning disability or autism.
In August the campaign will turn its focus to the 15 million people with long term conditions in England. Hearing people’s experiences is vital to help services work better for us all.
You can get involved in the campaign by:
- Sharing information about the campaign and the CQC online Give Feedback on Care form with your networks and via social media. Individuals can also give feedback via the phone or for people who are Deaf or hard of hearing there is a service called SignLive. Details can be found on the CQC website.
- Meet with us: Choice Support can attend one of your group meetings to give more information about the campaign, and to explain how to give feedback on care and why this is so important. Any comments raised during the session can be shared directly with CQC. Please contact us at publicengagementnetwork@choicesupport.org.uk to discuss.
- Share your stories: as part of the campaign, CQC are looking for stories from people (particularly those who have a long term condition, older people and people who have a learning disability or autism) about how feeding back issues in health and social care has had a positive effect on them and their family members.
Do you or someone you support have a story, in the last year, which might inspire other people to share their feedback about the care they or their loved ones have experienced? Your story could be turned into an article or short film clip to support CQC’s campaign. If you have any stories to share, please email publicengagementnetwork@choicesupport.org.uk
