Save the Date! Beyond Reflections Presents Trans+ Research Conference on 15th May

Dedicated to advancing research and understanding of trans+ experiences, including in health and social care, the conference is being held in-person at Bournemouth University and online.
PEN member Beyond Reflections works to create a safe community for trans+ people and their allies, providing support designed with and for the community.
The charity also offers education and training and, with several big projects now coming to a close, is currently increasing its support for research. The Trans+ Research Conference on 15th May encompasses part of this development.
The conference will be hosted by Bournemouth University and is supported by Trans Aware Cancer Care (TACC).
It will be attended by those seeking collaboration opportunities in this field of research and offers networking opportunities, a space where knowledge can be shared and an opportunity to contribute to effective efforts towards equity.
Trans+ Experiences in Health and Care
At the conference, trans+ experiences of health and adult social care will be explored, including in relation to barriers to healthcare, trans+ and neurodiversity, mental health and inclusivity.
Some topics will be covered using a multidisciplinary approach.
Developing a Research Hub
Following the conference, Beyond Reflections will set up a new trans+ research hub which students and researchers will be able to approach to find and share data.
Beyond Reflections’ vision is to enable research to be used more effectively to improve the lives of trans+ people as a result of its emerging research hub.

There may be the opportunity to bring and share materials during refreshment breaks and over lunch for those who attend the conference.
