New Supported Loving toolkit launched

Supported Loving relaunches a bigger, refreshed toolkit as it turns eight years old.
Founded by Dr Claire Bates, in 2017, Supported Loving has been campaigning to make love a reality for everyone ever since and helps those who provide support around sex and relationships; including social care staff, families, NHS staff, and self-advocates.
Supported Loving is a national network with almost 2,000 members from all over the world. It promotes best practice with the goal of getting people with learning disabilities and autistic people the support they need, to enjoy the same sexual and romantic freedoms as everyone else.
Choice Support are proud to host this accessible, free resource that is packed full of practical guidance to support people in their relationships.
A word from Claire
“It’s hard to put into words just how incredible this network is. Our members are amazing, and we’ve achieved so much together. From appearing on BBC and Channel 4 News, to hosting the first accessible academic conference on sex and relationships, and writing the Skills for Care training pack on sex and relationships, the impact of Supported Loving continues to grow. And there’s so much more to come!”
The toolkit now includes new pages offering guidance with menopause, support planning for sex and relationships, and supporting trans people with learning disabilities. Many of the existing pages have also been updated with new content and resources.
