Sarah Maguire retirement
Choice Support’s Chief Executive Officer Sarah Maguire has announced her retirement in April 2025.
Sarah, who has worked for the organisation for more than 30 years, started her career as a support worker and worked her way up to become the CEO of Choice Support.
In a statement to her colleagues, Sarah said: “I have loved working at Choice Support, and I will be very sorry to leave but the time is now right to retire, for me and Choice Support.
"I am particularly proud of leading the many hardworking and committed colleagues to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities, autistic people and those with mental health needs. I wish Choice Support all the best for their future success, creating opportunities for happiness for the people we support.”
Chair of Choice Support, Oliver Mills, said: “We are grateful to Sarah for her lifetime of service dedicated to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities, autistic people and those with mental health needs. Sarah has been an outstanding leader of Choice Support. She leaves behind a strong and successful organisation with a skilled and committed leadership team. We are very grateful to Sarah for her years of service and wish her a long and happy retirement.”
Creating opportunities for happiness
Sarah first started working with people with learning disabilities in 1987 as a support worker, supporting people to move out of long stay institutions to new homes in the community.
She joined Choice Support in 1993 and has held many roles including: Training Manager, Director of Operations, Director of Quality and Managing Director. She was appointed Chief Executive in 2017, following Choice Support’s merger with MCCH.
