Are you ready to take your next steps towards independence, but still need support?
Choice Support provides various accommodation options for autistic people, people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs.
The first thing to do is contact your local adult social care team, you may already be working with one. This team will do an assessment to determine if supported living is the best solution for you. If so, what exactly you would need from your supported accommodation. The adult social care team will then look for services in your area that are suitable for your needs.
If it’s determined that supported living isn’t required, your social care team will be able to provide you with alternatives such as outreach support or local day services. It’s important to recognise that support needs can change, and although supported living might not be what you need when you first get assessed, you may need it later on, so don’t be afraid to ask again.

You should also remember that you have a say in your own support. If there’s a particular provider you’ve found and would like to work with, Choice Support for example, you have a right to request that.
Your social care team will then contact us, and we will work with you and your team to make sure the services we provide are the best possible fit for your needs. We will also determine the funding needed for your support. This funding may come from your local authority if you’re eligible, alternatively there are grants you can apply for, or fund independently if you have the means to do so.
