Getting the most out of outreach support
The Wakefield outreach team supports Liam 16 hours per week.
Liam loves nothing more than to get out and about and socialise with friends. “I am always busy. The staff pick me up and take me out on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I meet my friends at the social clubs I go to. I have a great time there. We do loads of different things. I like playing Boccia and bingo, and I go cycling on a tricycle around the waterpark.”
Liam has cerebral palsy and needs help to do some things. “I have a brilliant motorised scooter that helps me to get to places, but I have no road sense, so I really need the staff to come out with me.”
Living at home with his parents, Liam has a very supportive network. “If I didn’t have support I just wouldn’t be able to go out and it’s so important as it gives my parents a break.”
