About us
One World: Choice Support's 5-year strategy 2026-31
One World, where everyone thrives and belongs.
People with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with mental health needs lead their own lives, make meaningful choices and contribute to their communities every day.
One World is about rights, real homes, relationships, opportunities and belonging. It is about support that fits everyday life, not systems that pull people away from reaching their potential.
The strategy sets out how Choice Support will work alongside people, families, loved ones, colleagues, partners and communities to build One World, where everyone thrives and belongs.
A simple belief runs through the strategy
People know their own lives best.
Their voices, choices and ambitions lead the way.
Choice Support has always pushed for self-directed support because people should lead their own lives. Everything starts with rights, not assumptions.
Our job is to step back when things are working and step up when barriers need to be removed.
Our Vision
One World, where everyone thrives and belongs.
One World means people are present, known, welcomed and valued in the places where life happens: at home, at work, with friends and in the community.
What we want to achieve
Over the next five years, Choice Support will focus on the difference people feel in day-to-day life.
People should have real choices, strong relationships, a home of their own, chances to work, space to contribute and a sense of belonging.
Five commitments power the strategy. They are bold, practical and measurable. Together, they help us build on what works, change what needs to change and create new opportunities.
The strategy keeps people in control of their own lives and keeps Choice Support accountable for the difference our work makes.
Our five commitments

Put people in charge
Real change starts when people lead.
Put people in charge means moving from involvement to leadership. People with lived experience will help set the agenda, shape decisions, call out what does not work and show what is possible.

Reimagine support
Great support opens doors.
Reimagine support means helping people build the life they want, with support that fits around them rather than asking people to fit around a service.
Success means more choice, stronger relationships, better health, new skills, paid work where people want it, and more chances to take part in community life.

Build amazing teams
Great support starts with great people.
Build amazing teams means creating open, healthy teams where colleagues feel valued, inspired, confident in their work and supported to do it well.

Innovate with purpose
New ideas only matter when they make life better.
Innovate with purpose means testing practical ideas with the people who use them, including everyday technology that helps people get out and about, stay in touch, manage money and feel safe.

Reach more people
Growth is about impact.
Reach more people means more people living in their own homes, working in ordinary jobs and belonging in their communities, with support that stays personal and life on people’s terms.
With people, for people
People’s experiences should never sit on the sidelines. They should drive what happens next.
The strategy was shaped through conversations, challenge and honest feedback from people we support, families, loved ones, colleagues and partners.
It sets a clear direction for the next five years: more power people can see and feel, more support rooted in everyday life, and more communities where everyone thrives and belongs.
